Q&A...
Q: When did you know you wanted to do hair?
A: I knew I wanted to do hair in 2004 after landing a great job with an oil company only to discover that it was not good for my family. It was a once in a lifetime chance to be artistic, make a great living, and be there as a husband and father.
Q: What inspires your creativity?
A: A: I am inspired by the fact that there is no “right or wrong” in art. I am sparked by everything from mountains to graffiti... The East Village- NYC to Southeast Asia.. Anything that requires me to look, taste, or see again.
Q: What advice would you give to someone considering coloring their hair
for the first time?
A: You don’t want to be that person who always says “I wish I had..” Don’t be afraid to color your hair! Color can be as subtle or as vivid as you want it to. As a guest of mine says, “It’s not a tattoo.” Color will compliment you.
Q: How do you customize a hair service for each and every client?
A: I take into consideration all aspects of a client. I try to build a unique design, color and care plan that fits his/her style, schedule, and needs.
Q: What celebrity always has great hair?
A: Honestly, as a typical dude, I don’t flip through US Weekly magazine or watch celebrity news on TV. I can’t really choose one celebrity, but what I can say is this... I always notice when someone is mixing up what is “current”. When someone breaks trend and leads into a new flavor... that is great hair.
Q: Describe your personal style.
A: I am a modern day hippie. Denim, TOMS, T-shirts and an occasional bowtie describes my closet. Relaxed, real, and ready to live!
