Currently working on: I am currently working on being a healthier person. I’d like to better my eating habits, work out, and getting enough rest.

Loves: I love FAMILY TIME.. Anything that has to do with my kids and husband. I love to stay at home and watch movies, cook some good “Mexican Food” and enjoy it. On the other side I also enjoy spending time with my closest friends and go Salsa Dancing every now and then, you know, when I can find a babysitter. Sometimes I also watch TV to see all the new trends about hairstyle and fashion, I like to keep up with it.

Places you want to visit: One of the places I am completely crazy to go visit is Spain, I have known some people who have visited Spain and they say it is absolutely fantastic. Another place I’d like to go to is the Bahamas, India also sounds interesting… I am just one of those people who would like to travel and know as much as I can about culture and costumes of different places.

Currently obsessed with: Learning, learning, learning, not on one specific thing… Our brain has so much capacity…Why limit it??

Q&A:

When did you know you wanted to do hair?

Ever since I was little. I used to be one of those girls who would cut her dolls hair, play with my mom’s make-up, and cut up some fabric pieces to make a cute dress for my Barbie doll. I have always been the one in the family who would always recommend someone what haircut or hair color would look good on them or try to encourage them to try something new. One of my favorite times was when I was in cosmetology school, the dream of becoming a hairstylist seemed to be so close, and the time there seemed to have flew by so fast.. I guess that happens when you are really passionate about something.

How would you describe your approach to doing hair color?

First I like to talk to my client and see what result she wants to achieve, second I give my opinion on what would be the best; according to natural hair color, eye color and skin tone, and then we can agree on something that she will absolutely love, enjoy and get complimented on.

What inspires your creativity?

Celebrities, they always have the best hairstyles,hair color and make-up. When it comes to nature, you can be inspired by almost anything there is, anything that has contrast like the sun, or dimension like the space, or a rich and beautiful color like mountains and flowers, or movement like the waves. You name it…. it all has something that will inspire your imagination and creativity.

What advice would you give to someone considering coloring their hair for the first time?

Go slow. If you are somehow scared about the change, it is always a great idea to gradually work your way to what you would like to achieve.

How do you customize a hair color service for each and every client?

Number one: ask my client what she /he wants. Client satisfaction is my first priority so I could never do something I think would look “cute” without their permission. Second, I ask if they would like my opinion on the choice they have made, and be honest and clear about what I think, In my opinion clients appreciate a person who can be honest (always in the most professional way possible) than somebody who always agrees to what they say without throwing in some suggestions. Always keeping in mind lifestyle, body structure, eye and hair color, face shape and how much time they would like to spend styling their hair.

What celebrity always has great hair?

Penelope Cruz, she is one of my favorites, not only her hair color, but the all the different ways she wears it , she always looks so elegant and classy. Another one of my favorite ones is Shakira, Whoever chose that creamy buttery blonde she has did a wonderful job and the way she styles it, a little messy or what may appear as effortless matches wonderfully with her personality

What's your approach to returning hair color clients?

I like to know how they feel about the color and cut, what they like, what they dislike what kind of compliments they have gotten about it. They have to be absolutely happy when they leave my chair for me to be pleased with what I have done.

Describe your personal style:

I think I have a little bit of every style, I think there is a moment and place for every style. Sometimes you have to look professional, sometimes classy, sometimes a little sexy, and some others just comfortable. My personal style is looking good, sometimes it does not matter what you wear, but how you wear it, so as long as you feel great, is all good.
